PETG


PETG is high clarity thin gauge co-polyester available in rolls and sheets. This material can be vacuum formed to produce products that have excellent definition as well as cold temperature impact strength.

This product is excellent for:

  • Screen printing
  • UV printing
  • Offset printing.


In addition PETG lends itself to excellent recyclability for both the manufacturer and the consumer!

  • It is available from .005-.375 thick.
  • There is a 2000# minimum.
  • 48" width is the most optimal (or any variation of that i.e.: 16" or 24"). For other widths the lead time may increase and the price may be higher.
  • It is available masked 1 or 2 sides on .015 or thicker.


Sheet requirements:

  • 14" x 14" is the smallest sheet available
  • .005-.017 - the maximum sheet size is: 48" x 64"
  • .020- the maximum sheet size is: 54" x 144"
  • .03-.236 The maximum sheet size is: 60" x 144"
  • .375- the maximum sheet size is: 48" x 144"

Oriented poly styrene is an in-expensive clear material used for packaging and print applications where a customer is looking for a product that is relatively cheap and is needed for a short period of time. This product is clear, but will scratch and tear very easily.

Polyester is a bi-axially oriented film that is commonly available in .0005 to .010 mils thick. PET is most often available in Clear, Clear matte, White and metalized. PET is dimensionally stable at high temperatures. It offers durability in the form of excellent initial tear and puncture resistance. It provides excellent thermal and chemical resistance as well. Polyester is optically very clear. It can be top-coated for offset printing with a chemical treatment which will increase the dyne level. This treatment lasts much longer than the traditional corona treatment.

 Manufactured to high standards, polyester is an extremely smooth substrate. This lends itself to applications that require good wet out. In addition Pet offers even caliper across the web. Polyester withstands many outdoor stresses, such as temperature extremes, environmental conditions, and moisture exposure. These characteristics make polyester a good choice for material tracking labels, compliance product identification, and safety/hazard/instructional labeling for durable goods.

Applications

Polycarbonate is a great product for applications that require high temperature resistance. It is dimensionally stable, has good printability without any top-coating. This makes it a great candidate for multi-layer printing for applications such as over-lays, floor graphics, in-mold decoration.

Polycarbonate is excellent for membrane switches, as well as backlit signage where on side of the sign is exposed to UV light and the other is exposed to elevated heat due to interior lighting. It is also ideal for applications that require repeated actuations or constant usage. It offers ease of processing for thermoforming, Embossing, die-cutting, hydro forming and bending. It can be used over light-emitting devices (LEDS).

This product is available in many thicknesses & finishes:

  • Polish/Polish (has a "stick" mask on one side and a "cling" mask on the other)
  • Flame-retardant'

Special sizes are available by mill runs. They have a 1000# minimum and will take 1-2 weeks.
